About the GTA-NeXt Network.

The GTA-NeXt Network is a series of fan-sites dedicated to bringing you all the latest news and information about the Grand Theft Auto series and to an extent, other Rockstar developed games. Our network of fan-sites includes a site dedicated to each game in the Grand Theft Auto series (Vice City, San Andreas, Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto IV and Episodes From Liberty City, and the Top Down GTA's -- Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories are included on the Grand Theft Auto III and Vice City websites respectively), a fan-site dedicated to "Grand Theft Auto V" which covers anything related to the next Grand Theft Auto game, be it rumour or official; a fan-site dedicated to everything Rockstar Games related and a discussion forum where all of these communities come together and provide some of the most in-depth information relating to the Grand Theft Auto series!

We also provide our most visited pages on the network in various other widely-spoken languages, including German, Arabic and Russian. If you are looking for a page in your language, look out for your countries flag located at the top of a specific page! Note: we can not guarantee the fixing of any errors or the updating on the translated pages.

History

2008 - The Super Gamers

The GTA-NeXt Network can be traced back to as early as 2008 under the sphere of the Super Gamers; a popular video gaming forum which would eventually become an on-site network of communities that centre around specific games and franchises. The "Grand Theft Auto Forums" was established on The Super Gamers website before the decision was made in late 2008 to transfer the Grand Theft Auto Forums to its own forum website along with several other communities - keeping The Super Gamers as a forum for general discussion relating to video games. The Super Gamers was closed late in 2008 due an internal incident and resulted in the external communities, including the Grand Theft Auto Forums, becoming independent. Most of these communities fell very quickly, however the Grand Theft Auto Forums was still going stronger then ever.

2009 - Grand Theft Auto Forums and Rockstar Gaming

The next major phase in the evolution on the GTA-NeXt Network was the expansion of the original Grand Theft Auto Forums, which would eventually be renamed to Rockstar Gaming in mid-2009 and would cover everything newsworthy relating to all Rockstar Games, including Red Dead Redemption which was in development at the time. The change of name included new graphics for the forum as well as a whole layout change, including the implementation of a "front page" news system. Rockstar Gaming would continue to cover Rockstar Games related news for the next six months at their current website before beginning plans to transfer to a new website, closing the old Rockstar Gaming forums in the process.

2010-present - GTA-NeXt Forums and formation of a network

The original GTA-NeXt Forums were founded on the 16th of January, 2010 as a hub for Rockstar Gaming to effectively cover the then-unknown next Grand Theft Auto title. With the increase of activity, the GTA-NeXt Forums were however expanded to accommodate the other Grand Theft Auto titles. The Rockstar Gaming team collaborated with each-other to draft bring about a network of fansites related to the Grand Theft Auto franchise (becoming known as the GTA-NeXt Network in the process) and on January 29th, 2010 (the date we celebrate our anniversary), the GTA-NeXt Network home page was opened along with the first network website, centring around Grand Theft Auto IV, GTA: San Andreas was opened shortly afterwards and a website centring around the next Grand Theft Auto title (now Grand Theft Auto V) was opened also.

The break-through came around 4-6 months after the creation of the GTA-NeXt Network when "GTA-SanAn" started receiving a moderate degree of attention, with the website attracting in a peak of over 100 visitors per day. Slowly but surely, "GrandTheft4", "GrandTheft5" and later on "ViceCity" also attracted huge public attention which lead a run-off effect on the rest of the network.

The initial success of the GTA-NeXt Network proved to be a motivator, setting up various projects which became known as the "Other Network websites, which cover various video games that aren't Grand Theft Auto or Rockstar Games related.

The GTA-NeXt Network will be celebrating its 2 year anniversary on the 29th of January, 2012
