| The GTA-NeXt Network is looking for the following people to help out - note; these positions are purely volunteer. Make sure you read EVERYTHING in the job description and the other terms and make sure you meet the requirements for the position you are applying for. The requirements may change at any time.
Content Editors
Content editors on the GTA-NeXt Network are responsible for the general posting and updating of content around the GTA-NeXt Network. The content editors will be given the choice of which website/s they would like to work on, and will work closely with other members of the GTA-NeXt Network team in order to accomplish the goal of providing visitors with the best and most comprehensive content around, relating to the website of which they are working at. Content editors should: - Have at least some experience in writing content and news for websites.
- Have basic HTML knowledge.
- Possess the ability to multitask and work as part of a team.
- Be fluent in the English language.
Other Terms
Basic training is given to new content editors when they become part of the team. Content editors are able to volunteer their time whenever they wish and whenever they have the time to. The recruitment managers, at their sole discretion, may reject or refuse a candidate if they deem them not suitable for the position, even if they meet all the above criteria.
Staff Moderators (Contract)
GTA-NeXt Forums Staff Moderators combine the job of forum management and website content editing into one package. Staff Moderators work on the forum with managing the forum in the Administrators absence and will also oversee the addition and editing of new content on the network websites of their own choice. Staff Moderators are recruited on a contract for a certain period of time. Staff Moderators should: - Have experience in writing news content for and adding new content to; websites.
- Have basic HTML and CSS knowledge.
- Possess the ability to multitask and work apart of and manage a team in a civil manor.
- Be fluent in the English language.
- Knowledge of the Simple Machines Forum software is a plus.
- Knowledge in forum moderation or administration is also a plus.
Other Terms:
Basic training is given to new Staff Moderators when they become part of the team. Staff Moderators must, if they don't already have one; send the desired forum name and desired password for use on the forums with their application. Staff Moderators must be available at least three times a week to help out on the forums and the network as a whole during their contract time. Contract extensions may be given to outstanding team members at the sole discretion of the recruitment managers. Candidates are subject to additional questioning by the recruitment managers to prove their suitability for the position. The recruitment managers, at their sole discretion, may refuse or reject a candidate if they deem them not suitable for the position, even if the candidate meets all the above criteria.
Network Administrators (Contract)
Network Administrators on the GTA-NeXt Network will oversee the management and maintenance of all network websites, the forums, and the staff team as a whole. They have the ability, with consultation with other network Admins, to make the decision to bring on new staff members and to fire existing staff members. A contract as a Network Administrator will last for a maximum of two (2) months. Network Administrators should: - Have a high degree of experience in content editing and writing. You must provide at least three (3) verified examples of your past work.
- Have HTML and CSS knowledge. You must provide past examples of your work.
- Possess the ability to multitask and work as part of a team, as well as manage a whole team of staff members below them.
- Be extremely fluent in the English language.
- You must have knowledge pf the Simple Machines Forum software.
- You must have past knowledge in forum management and moderation. You must provide proof of your past involvement in other forum communities as either a moderator or Administrator (or both).
Other Terms:
Training is not given to new Network Administrators when they join the team as it is assumed that they are knowledgeable in forum management and content editing as a whole. Network Administrators must, if they don't already have one, send the desired username and password that they wish to use on the forums with their application. Contract extensions may be given, at the sole discretion of the recruitment managers; to outstanding team members. Due to the degree of sensitivity that Network Administrators are entrusted with, candidates are subject to rigorous questioning in order to establish a "personality profile" and any refusal or hesitation to respond to these questions will result in immediate rejection of the application. The recruitment managers, at any time, reserve the right to revoke a Network Administrator of his or her abilities if they deem them to be abusing their abilities on the network and/or forums. Network Administrators should be available at least daily in order to assist with the day-to-day running of the Network. Real names and contact details must be given in the application, please do note though that this information will be purely for reference and will not be distributed to anyone, in accordance to our Privacy Policy. The recruitment managers, at their sole discretion, may reject an application should they deem the applicant inappropriate for the position for any reason, even if they satisfy all the above criteria.
